The term ‘Portmanteau’ sums up me not only personally but also professionally as both artist and designer, the work plays on the viewer’s memory, triggering thought and emotion. The subject matter of my work often concerns psychology, human nature and nostalgia.

It combines the mixed media Abstract paintings with photography, film and still overlay. The work combines strong iconic images with links to identity and sexuality, in multi layering these ideas in both visuals and sound.

Feelings of nostalgia are created through thought provoking combining separate plotlines with connecting themes. The use of language and particularly the play on words with its quirks and idiosyncrasies, are also used to challenge the viewer.
